Privacy and your designs
Your designs are never used to train models unless you opt in. What the AI sees, who else can see your work, and the controls you have.
Designs are often the most sensitive thing a company or a maker owns. This article explains plainly what Solid Vibes does with yours.
The promise
Your designs are never used to train AI models without your explicit opt-in.
This is off by default. The only way it turns on is if you choose to. You will find the setting under Account, called Help improve Solid Vibes models. It tells you in one sentence what it does, and you can switch it off again at any time.
What the AI sees
When you ask the agent for something, the information needed to do the job is processed by our AI provider (currently OpenAI) through Solid Vibes servers. Depending on your request, that can include:
- your prompt (text or transcribed voice),
- a description of the relevant part of your model, such as the Recipe, parameters and measurements,
- images you attach,
- and renders the agent makes to check its own work.
Solid Vibes handles this on the server side. Your browser never holds the AI provider's keys, and keys are never in your Things.
Designs that you do not ask the agent about are not sent to it.
Your designs and who can see them
| Visibility | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Private Thing | You, and anyone you share a link with, or (on team plans) workspace members with the right role |
| Public Thing | Everyone, as open source under a license. See Private and public Things |
| Share link | Anyone with the link, up to its permission, expiry and password |
Everything is private by default within your private slots, and your data is isolated at the database level so other accounts cannot read it.
Support access
Solid Vibes staff cannot casually browse your work. If our support team ever needs to view your account to help you, it is done with your consent and the action is logged.
What we do with usage information
To run the service, Solid Vibes keeps records of things like credit usage, agent runs (so you can see what happened), and basic operational data. To improve the help center, we also look at which help searches fail and which Help agent questions go unanswered, so we know which articles to write.
When you click "Did this help?" on an article, your feedback goes to the team that writes it.
Protections built in
- Images and files are treated as data, not commands. Text inside an uploaded image cannot instruct the agent.
- Content moderation applies to concept image prompts.
- The agent can never delete your history.
- Files are stored privately, accessed with short-lived signed links, and scanned on upload.
- Watermark options protect shared renders and drawings.
- Encryption protects data in transit and at rest.
Your controls
| Control | Where |
|---|---|

Practical advice for sensitive work
- Keep confidential designs in your private slots.
- Think before you attach screenshots or photos that show more than you need (labels, other products, people, addresses).
- For highly sensitive IP, ask your team about policy, and consider not sharing links with edit permission.
- Use expiring, password-protected view links.
- Review your shared links regularly.
- Keep opt-in for model improvement off if you work under confidentiality agreements.
Questions people ask
If I opt in, can I opt out later? Yes. Switching it off stops future use. Check the setting for how it handles earlier contributions.
Does the Help agent see my designs? The Help agent answers from the help center articles. When you ask it to show you something on your own model, such as a guided overlay, that happens inside the app on your model.
Is a public Thing "private" if I do not share the link? No. Public means open. Use private slots for anything confidential.
Try it
Open Account and find the Help improve Solid Vibes models switch. Read what it says, and confirm it is set the way you want.
