Buy the bought parts: supplier links, one cart per supplier, shopping list
Every screw, nut and board in your Thing links to suppliers. Buy all groups them by supplier and gives you BOM files, a CSV and a PDF shopping list.
The Make list (the Bill of materials, if you use Pro terms) lists every piece in your Thing. The bought ones (screws, inserts, boards, sensors) are the things you buy rather than make. Each one links to suppliers.
Supplier links
On every bought row, press Buy to search the first supplier. The + shows the others. The links are built from the part's own details, like "M3 x 10 socket head cap screw" or "BME280 breakout". You land on a search for that part:
- McMaster-Carr for screws, nuts, inserts, bearings
- Digi-Key and Mouser for electronic parts
- Adafruit, SparkFun and Pololu for boards and modules
- Amazon and AliExpress for most things
The links are plain searches. We don't add affiliate codes and we never buy anything for you.
Buy all
Press Buy all under the list. You get a cart:
- Grouped by supplier, with every part and its quantity.
- A price estimate per line and in total. These are typical street prices, not quotes.
- A switch on each line to buy that part from another supplier. It moves to that supplier's group.
For each supplier you can:
- Open searches: opens up to eight tabs, one per part. If your browser blocks them, use the links in the list.
- Download the supplier file. Digi-Key and Mouser get a BOM upload CSV (Quantity, Description, Customer Reference) for their BOM tools. They match what you list, and you confirm each match, because we don't know manufacturer part numbers. Other suppliers get a search list with a link per line.
- Copy list for a quick paste into an email or chat.
The shopping list
At the bottom of the cart, or in the ⋯ menu on the Make list:
- Download CSV: supplier, item, search terms, quantity, estimated unit price and line total, and the link. Open it in any spreadsheet.
- Download PDF: a tidy list you can print or send.
Both are the same list, grouped by supplier, with a total.
Check before you order
Fastener lengths, board versions and connector types are easy to get wrong. Open each link and compare it with the part in your Thing. If the exact part isn't offered, ask the agent to swap it for one that is.
